CFP Board (www.CFP.net/learn), a nonprofit regulatory organization, is devoted to educating the public about the benefits of financial planning.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. (CFP Board) is to help people benefit from competent, professional and ethical financial planning.

To further this mission, CFP Board works to:

• create awareness of the importance of financial planning and the value of the financial planning process.
• help underserved populations have access to competent and ethical financial planning.
• create and enforce uniform standards of competency, practice and ethics of financial planners - - through rigorous, validated and professionally administered education, examination, experience and ethics requirements.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and federally registered CFP (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete the CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.
