TFG:  In The Community

Tull Financial Group, Inc., has had wonderful opportunities to participate in the growth and well-being of our community through various organizations in and around Hampton Roads.

One of those opportunities has come in the form of support for our local hospital, Chesapeake Regional Medical Center (CRMC). Robin Tull currently serves as the Chairman for the Board of the Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation--the fundraising arm of the CRMC. However, from 2005 to 2008 he spearheaded the Foundation's largest event, the annual black-tie/costume Gala.

Some of you may have attended past Galas--there was Denim & Diamonds--A Saga of the Old West; in 2007 guests were taken back to The Glorious '40s, and last year childhood fantasies were relived during the Myths, Legends, & Fairytales Gala.

This year's 2009 Gala whisked revelers away to the other side of the world duing the Bonsai Bash: A Far East Explosion.

With the 2009 proceeds benefitting the upgraded Emergency Department at CRMC, the Gala was a success for both guests and recipients.

Robert Tull is also a member of the Chesapeake Rotary Club, having served as a past President. He has also participated annually in the Paint Your Heart Out program, which provides much needed paint and repairs to the homes of elderly residents.

 

TFG:  Out and About

Tull Financial Group has also participated in other exciting events happening around Hampton Roads. For the past five years we have sponsored a premiere event held by Regent University in Virginia Beach--The Clash of the Titans Debate. This event brings together some of the sharpest political minds to debate the hottest topics in current events. In October of 2004, Bob Dole and Al Gore came together to discuss "Election 2004: What's At Stake For America?"

In 2005, Newt Gingrich and Colonel Oliver North faced off with General Wesley Clark and former Clinton advisor Paul Bengala over "The War in Iraq: Is the Bush Strategy Working?"

We look forward to participating in similar exciting events in the months to come.

 

TFG: Sharpening Our Skills

September 2005: Robert Tull attended the Financial Planning Association's annual retreat in San Diego, CA. The FPA's intense three day conference brought together many of the profession's most talented individuals to discuss the art and science of financial planning.

October 2005: Kirstin had the opportunity to travel to New York City to attend the Selected Funds Investment Forum conference. This information-intensive, research-oriented meeting filled Kirstin's head with even more useful knowledge to better serve our clients. In the midst of it all, she still found time to pay a visit to the famous Wall Street Bull.

October 2006: Robert Tull became a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the nation’s leading organization of Fee-Only comprehensive financial planning professionals.

November 2006: Robert Tull attended the Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., IMPACT Conference in Washington, D.C., where he attended numerous continuing education workshops. The conference also hosted some amazing speakers, such as Dr. Alan Greenspan, author Thomas L. Friedman, news analyst Cokie Roberts, and entrepeneur Sir Richard Branson.

July 2008: As always, TFG tries to stay sharp on all the financial tools available for our use. To this end, Kirstin and Terry flew to Baltimore, MD, to attend a Schwab Solutions workshop in an effort to keep current on financial software knowledge.

September 2008: Kirstin attended the annual Schwab IMPACT Conference in Atlanta, GA, where she attended numerous continuing education workshops.

Spring 2009: Robert Tull attended the Selected Funds Conference in New York City, and the First Mercantile Conference in Memphis, TN. These informative sessions provided great insight to the rapidly changing financial landscape.

June 2009: Robert Tull attended the NAPFA Annual Conference in Washington, DC -- an intense, three day conference packed with informative speakers and continuing education for financial planning professionals.
