Senior Wealth Manager
Robert W. Tull, Jr. is founder, president, and CEO of Tull Financial Group, Inc., in Chesapeake, Virginia. With more than 30 years of financial planning experience in Hampton Roads and beyond, he focuses on the areas of investment management, and retirement and estate planning. He also provides highly individualized personal and business advisory services.
Robin, as most know him, entered the financial planning profession after receiving an MBA with a concentration in finance from The University of Houston. He publishes a newsletter, The Quarterly Report, which addresses the investment climate and practical planning topics. While well-known locally as knowledgeable in financial matters, he is also recognized nationally as a former “Ask the Expert” on Quicken.com’s retirement website. Robin has also contributed to The New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Reader’s Digest, CNNfn, SmartMoney Interactive, CBN Newswatch, and Financial Planning Magazine.
He has been a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner for over 30 years, having served on the national board of directors for the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP) in Denver, Colorado (1996-1998) and as past president of the local Hampton Roads chapter. He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), which requires its members to sign a Fiduciary Oath.
Robin is extremely active in his community. A Rotarian for more than 25 years, he has served in various capacities including being honored as past president of the Rotary Club of Chesapeake, Virginia. He serves as Secretary on the Chesapeake Hospital Authority board for Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, and has also served on various committees, including chair positions for Investments, Compensation, and Strategy.
He was also a past chairman of the Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation Board of Directors having also served as finance chair and chairman of their Annual Gala. Robin is also a past Vice-Chair of the City of Chesapeake Other Post-Employment Benefits Board (OPEB), a past chairman of the Atlantic Shores Christian School Board, served on the Old Point National Bank Regional Advisory Board, and on the Alumni Board of Oral Roberts University. In 2018 he was asked to serve his alma mater, Oral Roberts University, as a Trustee.
He and his family currently attend RiverBend Church in Suffolk. Robin and his wife, Cathy, have four children — Andrew, Courtnay, Philip, and Victoria. Robin and Cathy are also proud to be new grandparents to their first grandchild, Aurora Grace, born in September 2018.

Amy is a combination of capability, caring, and sunny disposition that is instrumental in ensuring that our clients’ needs are met. Overseeing our Client Services Department, Amy works closely with Robin to maintain the high standard of service and proactivity that we strive to deliver to each client.
With almost 20 years of experience in financial services, she has a Certificate in Financial Planning, and holds the Registered Financial Consultant (RFC)® designation. As our Social Security and Medicare specialist, she has earned the National Social Security Advisor (NSSA) Certificate.
Amy is also one of the first Certified Senior Advisors (CSA)® in the Hampton Roads area, and she’s passionate about helping people age gracefully and transition through their later years as smoothly as possible. She also has extensive experience in assisting adults and children with special needs, helping them navigate government programs and planning for their financial future.
Amy enjoys spending time with her grandsons and helping others. She can often be found outside during nice weather, or inside cooking, watching movies, or reading. After relocating here from upstate New York, she appreciates the warmer weather – we are so thankful she made the trip!

Associate Wealth Manager
Phil’s desire for serving people, especially young families, has been a benefit to TFG’s clients for over five years. Phil received his bachelor’s degree in Finance from Southeastern University where he excelled as a student and collegiate athlete. In May 2017, he earned his master’s degree in Financial Planning from Kansas State University, where he also received his Personal Financial Planning Certificate. Never one to slow down, Phil is preparing to sit for the CFP® exam in the coming year.
As an Associate Wealth Manager, Phil guides clients through creating detailed financial plans, setting up various accounts, navigating budgets and employee benefits, and providing investment research and portfolio support. These are just a few of the skills he performs as he assists our clients with thoughtfulness and detail, while also serving as a key member of our Investment Committee.
In addition to serving our clients, Phil is also the Boys Varsity Soccer Coach at Atlantic Shores Christian School, where he thrives on developing the next generation of great soccer players. In 2018 he was honored with the Metro Coach of the Year award (yay, Phil!)
Philip and his wife, Janaé – a professor at Old Dominion University – enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, fishing and snowboarding, and volunteering with the youth at their church.

Director of Investment Operations
Ellen serves our clients and their accounts through both financial planning and investment analysis, combining her love of numbers and research with her desire to help people in a deeply significant way.
Overseeing our Investment Operations Department, she contributes her valuable skills in many areas including data management, client billing, and quarterly reporting duties. She also provides substantial assistance to our Chief Compliance Officer, and more importantly, she leads our Investment Committee, helping keep us on track with our investment research and due diligence.
Ellen earned her bachelor’s degree in Finance from Virginia Tech. She then gained over five years of experience in the financial services industry working with high-net-worth and institutional client relationships before bringing her talents to TFG in 2017. She has also passed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam series and holds her Series 65 license.
Ellen and her husband, Jake — an officer in the U.S. Navy – welcomed their first child in early 2018. An avid world traveler, Ellen has made multiple trips to Europe, and even conducted her initial interview with TFG from Germany. We’re very thankful she’s settled here in Virginia, though, and are thrilled to have her on our team.

Cole discovered an interest in financial literacy through a class he took at his church, and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning from Liberty University. After gaining experience in accounting, taxes, and financial planning, Cole joined the Tull Financial team in August of 2018 and has quickly become a valuable asset to the firm, especially in the area of tax research and analysis.
Passionate about serving people and about the financial services profession, Cole uses his skills and education to make an impact on others’ lives financially. As part of the Investment Operations Department, Cole provides support in the daily duties of data management and investment research, while also assisting the Client Services Department as needed.
Born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, Cole comes from a rural and small-town background, but looks forward to travelling throughout his life. He enjoys challenging himself, whether intellectually or physically, and can often be found learning something new.

Office Administrative Assistant
Renee is the newest member of our Tull Financial Group team, keeping us organized as our Office Administrative Assistant. Don’t let her small stature fool you, though – her giant personality will make you feel right at home when you call or come in for a visit, and her genuine smile has never met a stranger.
Being a mother of three contributes greatly to her administrative talents. Her endless energy, management of changing schedules and routines, and keeping up with the demands of a high-paced environment is where she shines the brightest. It is also what makes her the perfect fit in her role as Executive Assistant to our CEO.
Prior to coming to Tull Financial Group she was an Assistant Teacher as well as an Outdoor Gardening Teacher for K3 through 4th grade. We are also proud to share that Renee is a veteran who served four years in the United States Marine Corps and six years with Army Special Forces.
Her vast array of life experiences and employment opportunities have taught her the value of family, hard work, and the joy of serving others.
